Garfield County, Colorado

Triple J Ranch

6100 acres of ranch land located 40 miles west of Aspen, eight miles south of Glenwood Springs and five miles south of New Castle in east-central Garfield County on the south side of Interstate 70, allowing for a limited number of family compounds.

2,063-acres of the Ranch have been placed into a conservation easement which represents one of the largest and most important land donations ever received by Aspen Valley Land Trust, protecting the high mountain Triple J Ranch's productive agricultural land and critical habitat for a variety of small and large game species, primarily elk, bear and deer. The property will remain privately owned, but the conservation easement prohibits any future development or subdivision of the property, allowing only for a few agricultural structures.

The easement donation to Aspen Valley Land Trust, Colorado's oldest land trust, provides a timely example of a company deeply engaged in ecological practices for the benefit of their bottom line, while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
